Aaron Post is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. He received his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University in 2011 with a concentration in Mental Health, Expressive Art Therapy, and Substance Abuse Counseling. He specializes in helping adolescents, young adults, and families who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, mood instability, self-esteem issues, and concerning behavior.
Aaron helps patients gain insight into the sources of low self-esteem, painful emotions, and destructive patterns, and in turn to develop new patterns, fulfill their potential, and strengthen their connections with others. Aaron utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Gestalt therapy techniques. He helps families understand their patterns and work together to create a system that promotes health and support.
Aaron has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults who are resistant to engaging in therapy. He has experience in helping people who struggle with substance abuse or behavioral additions. His clinical experience is in school system settings, higher education, treatment centers, and private practice.
