Tahle Sendowski, Ph.D.

Dr. Sendowski is a licensed psychologist and a nationally credentialed school psychologist. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorders (AD/HD), and learning disorders. Dr. Sendowski also has expertise in treating adjustment and anxiety disorders. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in School Psychology from The University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Sendowski completed pre-doctoral internships and externships across a variety of settings, from public schools to a hospital-based neurology clinic to private psychology practices. She completed two years of postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill TEACCH Autism Program.

Dr. Sendowski conducts therapy and assessments with patients from 18 months to young adults. Her approach to both therapy and assessment is to work collaboratively with her patients and their village of caregivers, teachers, and other providers to build a holistic view of their unique strengths and challenges. She believes that parents and caregivers are experts on their children and their first and most important teachers. Dr. Sendowski also believes that it is empowering for children and adolescents to understand how their brains work. As such, she works closely with patients and their caregivers to develop an understanding of their learning style and build skills to successfully reach their goals.

Dr. Sendowski uses an eclectic approach to treatment, pulling from many evidenced-based models, including cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior analysis, social thinking, structured TEACCHing, and others. Dr. Sendowski is passionate about supporting the wellbeing of all family members of individuals with learning and developmental differences, including their siblings.
